Took ages to get this song done, we re-wrote the lyrics 3 times, even this isn’t the final version! There’s a track on Above The Noise that i’d love you to hear all the vocals separately, it’s really complicated but incredible! I think we sound so young on this! can’t believe this was over 4 years ago! Oh how time mcflies………..oh dear, that’s an awful joke.

There’s so much going on in the world that we don’t see or aren’t aware of. So much that is wrong. I’ve taken some time to do a little research into Children in War, I have found the following on http://www.unicef.org/sowc96/ciwcont.htm -
Recent developments in warfare have significantly heightened the dangers for children. During the last decade, it is estimated (and these figures, while specific, are necessarily orders of magnitude) that child victims have included:
· 2 million killed;
· 4-5 million disabled;
· 12 million left homeless;
· more than 1 million orphaned or separated from their parents;
· some 10 million psychologically traumatized
Shocking, isn’t it?! Reading further left me feeling sickened.
Children are forced from their homes and exposed to brutal, violent acts – sometimes they are even forced to take part in them. Some are made to execute family members. Turned into outcasts, with nowhere left to turn, they are fed crack and “socialized” into violence.
Children are one of the biggest gifts on earth – yet in the Iran-Iraq war, they were thought expendable – they were sent out ahead in waves over minefields.
As a UK soldier what would you DO if confronted by a child soldier with a weapon? That soldier has been trained to kill you… but it’s a CHILD! It’s a horrific thought.
So… I’d like us all to take a moment and think about what these poor children are being put through. Whether forced to fight, or left homeless War has changed these children’s lives dramatically and have robbed them of their childhood.

We are too quick to moan about our lot in life. Be grateful that you live where you do and that you don’t live in constant fear and danger. After looking at these two websites, and seeing what you can do, take time to sit back and think of all the ways you are blessed.
